Sensex rebounds to end the week with modest gains

China's mountain of foreign exchange reserves dropped around $19 billion in September to a five-year low, government data showed, with the central bank spending heavily to defend its currency against capital outflows.

India's foreign exchange reserves went up to $371.99 billion as on September 30, the Reserve Bank of India announced. According to data released by the RBI on Friday, the reserves stood at around $371.99 billion as on September 30, as against $370.76 billion as on September 23.
