Scientists extract anti-cancer tea capsule
Scientists from the Council of Scientific and Industrial research Institute of Himalayan Research Biotechnology (CSIR IHBT) located at Palampur, 40 km from here, claim to have developed a technology to extract 'catechin' from young tea leaves. Catechin is a type of disease-fighting flavonoid and antioxidant.

Shimla-based Army Training Command (ARTRAC) and Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) will sign a memorandum of understanding for higher studies in the field of defence studies, war psychology, defence management, public administration and remote sensing for those candidates from army who wish to pursue these courses at HPU and share also expertise with the university.
