SBI to allot shares to govt for capital infusion
Country's largest lender SBI on Saturday said it will issue equity shares on preferential basis to the government for capital infusion of Rs 5,681 crore. Pursuant to the in-principle approval from government, the central board of directors of the bank on Saturday decided to offer and issue shares to the government, SBI said in a BSE filing.

Gold, silver glitter on Diwali demand
Gold price increased by Rs 160 to Rs 30,750 per 10 grams on the eve of Diwali at the bullion market on Saturday on increased buying by jewellers to meet festive demand along with a firm global trend. Silver recaptured the Rs 43,000-mark per kg by gaining Rs 300 on increased offtake by coin makers and industrial units.

US dollar drops amid new FBI probe on Clinton emails
The US dollar declined against most major currencies on falling expectations for an interest-rate hike by year-end after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced a plan to probe new emails related to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
