I love the drum beats in the Odia folk songs: Sukhwinder Singh
The unusual, husky voice rendering Chhaiyan chhaiyan had us glued to the earphones in the times of cassettes and walkmans. As much as it was Shah Rukh Khan dancing on the train top, it was the powerful new voice that worked like magic for the chart-topper. From one musical hit to another, Sukhwinder Singh had the nation tap to his songs back then. The singer later marked his career high internationally with the popular Slumdog Millionaire track Jai ho and gave us goosebumps each time we heard him sing the Chak De India title track. In the city to attend an event, he settled for a candid chat with BT. Excerpts:

Viral video's take on Odisha received well

What could possibly blend the two into a roaring success on the internet? Well, it’s an attempt closer home. A group of young stand-up comedians in the city, Bhubaneswar Komedians, has made a music video Made in Odisha that has gone viral on YouTube within three days of uploading it and garnered nearly 1.5 lakh views.
