Man spends 10 years in jail for his brother's crime
Police sources say that 4 persons were booked for the murder of a resident of Sabudala. Cops managed to arrest the other three accused, but Bala's brother Pappu remained elusive. After successive raps by the court for inaction, police finally picked Bala up and produced him as Pappu.

Co-op banks barred from amnesty plan
The government barred cooperative banks on Friday from accepting deposits under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme, a move aimed at curbing any misuse. The measure comes after various government agencies unearthed irregularities in several cooperative banks.

Warning signals put up at 140 accident-prone spots
The highway ministry has identified a total of 789 black spots. While the actual plan is to rectify these spots and stretches by taking corrective engineering measures the ministry had directed all agencies to immediately put warning signals to caution drivers when they approach such spots.
