Hours after AIADMK ministers urged Sasikalaa to take over the reins of the party on Saturday, Jayalalithaa's niece said the move was “very unfortunate". Deepa Jayakumar, daughter of Jayalalithaa's brother Jayakumar, said the move could lead to resentment.
